• What are the differences between windproof lighters' flame types?

Torch Lighters (Thin, needle-like flame--also windproof).

Torch lighters have the hottest and most powerful flame (It can reach temperatures of over 2,500 degrees!). They will keep a consistent stream of thin air propelled fire no matter what angle it's held at. For this reason, it's particularly used for pipes and cigars, but can be used for cigarettes, etc..

Windproof Lighters (Wide, cone-shaped flame).

Windproof lighters' flames have a wider circumference than torch lighters, so they light cigars in seconds and cigarettes in less than a second! The flame should always be held upwards (unlike torch lighters that can be held at any angel. Like torch lighters, windproof lighters' flames are windproof and can be used in any weather condition. Some of our windproof lighters have brilliant green flames.

Multi-Flame Lighters

Models with this flame type are rare. It produces a force, so intensely hot, that it lights just about anything in under a second. It's mainly used for thick cigars. But be careful, if it's used with pipes, damage may be incurred.

Green Flame Lighters (Wide, cone-shaped flame)

This flame type is just like the jet flame (above) except, the flame's color is bright green! At first, it's a regular blue jet flame... But after about a second, the flame turns into a brilliant bright green flame. This occurs because
there is a catalyst on the heat coils which changes the color of the flame once it reaches a higher temperature. People love this flame, it's a real eye catcher!

Natural Flame Lighters (Does not damage pipes)

Lighters of this type have a classic "regular flame", or "natural flame". Lighters with this type of flame are ideal pipe lighters. This flame should be used on delicate or valuable pipes that should not be damaged. The natural flame doesn't burn up tobacco as quick as torch or jet flames, but it's necessary to preserve smoking pieces that should be kept in good condition.

• Is using our butane lighters bad for the environment or me?

No! Not at all. In fact the only byproducts of burning the butane from our lighters are: water and carbon dioxide. These are obviously harmless to the environment and also harmless for you to breathe in while lighting up.

If your lighter breaks, customers
must contact us via e-mail (bug@bugstores.com) within 30-days of receiving their order.

We will issue a replacement/refund, only after customers have sent us back original the broken lighter. Lighters are only accepted for return/exchange, if they are sent back with their original factory stickers intact (if a sticker was included). Additional (but small) shipping charges may be incurred depending on the weight of the return order.
