Fit and finish is very good and lights everytime. A must have for the pipe smoker. Better deal than the IM Corona or XIKAR lighters of the same design.

Pretty good lighter, but, it's a YIBAO lighter, hard to miss, it's stamped right on it, LOL. YIBAO is a big chinese manufacturer, they make a whole line of different sizes and finishes of this lighter. They do make good quality lighters which are fairly inexpensive. http://www.wzyibao.com No need to hide it behind "Monarch". Makes a good everyday lighter, not just for pipes. I prefer the design of this type of lighter, on balance it's the right tool for most jobs, and look's good too!

In Response to David's review (above), this lighter is indeed a Yibao lighter. But it's made by the Monarch factory. So they still call it a "Monarch" lighter. And yes, it is a very nicely designed lighter. We especially love the "hands" free feature :)

A perfect pipe lighter that functions as it should. Well-built, trim and reliable. A great deal in purchasing made even more so by BugStores by including a refillable plastic lighter and a small bottle of butane, along with this excellent Monarch lighter! Thank you!

Yes, this lighter is slightly different than the rest of YIBAO's line of lift arm lighters. It's slightly lighter and smaller and takes only very small flints. I have other YIBAO lighters and this one is the odd man out. Probably right, it was made at a different factory than the rest of the YIBAO lift arm lighters. Fine lighter, but remember to use Colbri size flints, Zippo, Ronson flints are to large for it.

This lighter exccded by expectations for quality. The 5 star rating is right on the money. BugStore is an excellent internet company and is very honest in their product descriptions and ratings. I will be making other purchases with them in the near future. Keep up the GREAT workand efforts you have demonstrated for customer satisfaction.

Just got this a few days ago and can safely say I'm very happy with it, one thing though, the flame valve confuses me a bit, turning it towards the + sign makes the flame smaller and the - sign makes it larger, and even at the lowest setting, the flame is seriously huge.

It sounds like you're just reading the + and - signs backwards. Counter clockwise turns the flame intensity UP. Turning it clockwise turns the intensity DOWN.
